Dubai expects full Russian cooperation
Lieutenant-General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, said they expect full cooperation from the Russian security services to find the group involved in the planning and assassination of the former commander of the disbanded Chechen 'Vostok' battalion, Sulim Yamadayev.
According to a media statement by Lt Gen Dahi, Yamadayev, who was believed to be an opponent of Moscow-backed Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, had been in Dubai for four months as a resident following his retirement.
Dubai Police initially referred to the victim as Sulaiman Madov, since that was the name printed on a Russian passport found on the victim who was shot dead in a parking lot in Rimal Building 6 of Jumeirah Beach Residence.
However, Russian consul-general Sergei Krasnogo and Dubai Police have since confirmed that the victim is Yamadayev.
